Oy Transmeri Ab is specializingn in the sales, marketing and distribution of cosmetcs and daily consumer goods products in Finland, the Nordic countries, and the Baltic region. We are a growing and business driven Finnish family-owned company with decades of experience in building the growth and success stories of numerous brands. We have a proven track record of successful product launches and establishing significant market positions. Our long-term approach, expertise in local markets and successful collaboration with major chains and retailrs enable competitive brands to thrive. We have established a solid market presence for thousands of products in Finland, the Nordic countries, and the Baltic region through collaboration with our partners.

In addition to the Finnish company, Oy Transmeri Ab has a subsidiary in Sweden, Transmeri Nordic Ab, with its own local team.

Oy Transmeri Ab covers 100% of Finland’s distribution channels with our extensive range of daily consumer products. Our distribution includes thousands of product items, and we introduce hundreds of new daily goods and cosmetics each year. We are also one of Finland’s largest marketers of selective and natural cosmetics.

Our broad expertise and efficient service concept provide a reliable foundation for collaboration. Many of the principal brands we represent have been partners since the early days of Oy Transmeri Ab, including SC Johnson since 1931 and Chanel since 1933.

Oy Transmeri Ab is part of the Transmeri Group

Oy Transmeri Ab is part of the family-owned, diversified Transmeri Group, which employs over 800 people. The Transmeri Group also includes our sister company, Oy Transmeri Logistics Ab, located in Vantaa. Oy Transmeri Logistics develops and manufactures products for our own brands, as well as providing contract manufacturing services for principal brands.

From vision to a successful family business

Transmeri was founded in 1928 by Danish businessman Gunnar Didrichsen. At that time, as the founder himself described, “Finland was just a white spot on the map,” but the world-travelled and European-educated visionary saw potential for success in the region and decided to start a business. The first long-term principal relationships, still in place today, were established by Transmeri in 1931 with SC Johnson and in 1933 with Chanel. Throughout its nearly 100-year history, Transmeri has created numerous brand success stories in the Finnish market and has maintained a strong presence as a key market player.

From generation to generation

Gunnar Didrichsen served as the CEO of Transmeri for 60 years, from the company’s founding until 1988. After stepping down from his long and successful career, his son Jon Didrichsen followed in his father’s footsteps, serving as the company’s CEO from 1988 to 2009.

Gunnar Didrichsen’s legacy is carried on by all four of his children and their families. Transmeri is not just a company or a workplace; it is the Didrichsens’ second family, with every family member contributing to its future. The youngest of the Gunnar Didrichsen family and the only daughter, Ann Marie Didrichsen, served as Transmeri’s CEO from 2009 to 2013. The third generation of the Didrichsen family is committed to continuing the family business, with a focus on sustainable development in its operations.

Cultural offerings since 1965

Gunnar Didrichsen married Marie-Louise Granfelt in 1939. From the very beginning, art was their shared passion, which led to the creation of the Didrichsen Art Museum on Kuusisaari Island in Helsinki.

The Didrichsen Art Museum opened its doors to the public in September 1965. In recent years, the museum has consistently ranked among the ten most popular art museums in Finland.
