Together Towards a Better Future
Sustainable Development
Our corporate responsibility efforts are guided by our values and the requirements set by our operating environment, including national and international legislation. We strive to be trustworthy, and for us, ethical behavior in both business and society is a matter of honor.
We have chosen the United Nations’ internationally recognized 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as the framework for our corporate responsibility work. We support the advancement of all 17 goals both in Finland and globally, but we have identified the following three SDGs as most critical to our business:

Focus areas in our sustainability work
In developing our strategic sustainability themes, we have considered our values, the nature of our business, stakeholder needs and expectations, prevailing megatrends, and societal expectations for companies in our industry.
Oy Transmeri Ab prioritizes five key focus areas to achieve its sustainability goals.
Toward a Low-Emission Future
Our goal is to actively reduce emissions from properties, transportation, and mobility, and to offset any remaining emissions by 2035.
We aim to achieve zero emissions from our own operations by 2030, and to reduce emissions in calculated Scope 3 categories (transportation and distribution, business travel, commuting) by 40% from the 2022 levels by 2035.
Sustainable procurement
In 2023, 100% of Transmeri’s suppliers are committed to our Supplier Code of Conduct or similar principles. We will continue to engage all our partners in our Supplier Code of Conduct.
All our own brands products are covered by BSCI audits for factories in risk countries, and the overall rating for these factories is C or better.
Our goal is to engage our suppliers in risk countries with amfori BEPI environmental programme (Business Environmental Performance Initiative), which guides suppliers in identifying and improving the environmental impacts of their operations.
We are mapping the supply chains of our own brands to enhance transparency.
Sustainable and Safe Products
We aim to minimize waste generated by our operations and produce an annual waste report as part of our sustainability review. The target for waste was set in 2021, and future waste must not exceed 0.1% of the products sold.
We introduce sustainable product options to the market as part of our ongoing efforts and support consumers in making sustainable choices
Sustainable Packaging
Whenever it is reasonable and possible, we prefer recycled and alternative materials to plastics, ensuring material efficiency without compromising product quality, freshness, or safety.
Our plastic strategy for 2028 applies to our own-produced products. We aim for 100% recyclability of product packaging by 2026 and to replace at least 50% of virgin plastic with recycled plastic by 2028.
To promote recyclability, we strive to ensure that all products we sell have recycling instructions on their packaging, our website, or our online stores by 2025.
Our personnel is our key asset
Our goal is to have a well-being, motivated, and skilled workforce. We support the development of our employees’ adaptability and skills and aim to enhance their expertise in sustainability.
